Why does wilderness matter to you?
Wilderness matters to me because I exist!
When we protect nature and allow ecosystems to develop and thrive without our interference, we're really investing in our own future.
Why does wilderness matter to your community?
Wilderness offers a necessary respite from the world in which we now exist, for both human visitors and wildlife.
One of my children compares it to “offering our natural world a life preserver.”
Share a story about a special experience you have had in wilderness.
Wilderness is where I have had the opportunity to develop the self-confidence and resilience necessary to navigate the world we live in. The lessons one learns in both preparing to navigate wilderness and while immersed in it cannot be replicated in any other way.
