Why does wilderness matter to you?

Wilderness is a God given gift that exists as a necessary and valuable part of our ecosystem combined with providing homes and habitats for all the God created animal beings that depend on it.
There is a terrible thing that happens within this nation that is unfortunately tied to politics. That truth is that republicans are seemingly blinded to the importance of these wilderness places we have been blessed with here in our nation. That political party prefers to give preference to destructive policies such as drilling, fracking and infrastructure which adversely negatively affect our planet and living, breathing lives. It has been this way for decades. Rather than being thankful for and protecting the pristine lands and waters the Lord has blessed us with, some misguidedly want to open those places to polluting industries and the effects are disastrous. My hope is for a continued response from caring and responsible conservation groups and everyday citizens in protecting wilderness!

Share a story about a special experience you have had in wilderness.

I used to take my young children on walks in wilderness areas to provide them with an understanding of the importance and joy such places can and do bring to our lives. The wonderful memories of those times shall always remain with me.
