Why does wilderness matter to you?

Wilderness is the highest protection we grant for public lands while still allowing multiple recreational options. It protects lands for the future which the mission statements of the BLM and Forest Service imply in some way. Wilderness also offers so many protections as far a climate change mitigation , species preservation, and protected watersheds in some cases.

I want these lands improved, expanded, and honored for all they offer us. I also want to see them preserved for future generations. I want my children and grandchildren to continue to enjoy them and find peace and tranquility in these beautiful places.

Wilderness is important. It can demonstrate its beauty, inspire us with its significance, and help us have better lives, but it cannot speak for itself. It is up to us to speak for it.

What are your hopes for the future of wilderness?

To have wilderness preserved, to have more lands designated as wilderness and to see America lead the world in respecting the environment we live in and take steps to preserve it.
